LiveBird Technologies is a GIS and custom software company headquartered in Ahmedabad, India, with a US entity in Delaware. We build the mapping platforms, field apps and back-office systems that government agencies and enterprises run their operations on — and we have been doing it for more than two decades.

To look beyond the skies, to where technology can change and help human life — and make that a part of day-to-day living.
LiveBird started as a small team of engineers who wanted to build software properly: understand the problem, pick the right platform, ship something that works in the field, then keep it working. Twenty-five years later that is still the whole business model. We operate from our headquarters in Ahmedabad and through our US entity — LiveBird Technologies, Inc. in Dover, Delaware — so US clients contract with a US company and get an engineering team that is already awake when they are.
Geospatial is our centre of gravity. We design and build on ESRI/ArcGIS (Online, Enterprise, Pro and the Maps SDKs), QGIS, Mapbox, TAK Server and PostGIS, and we take the same engineering discipline into web, mobile and desktop products: Next.js and Nest.js back ends, native iOS and Android, Flutter and React Native, Electron and .NET on the desktop. Most of our work is for government and public-safety agencies, utilities, real-estate and logistics operators, and enterprises that need their data on a map and in the hands of people in the field.
Alongside client work we run a product division. Our own GIS utilities and consumer apps have passed ten million downloads on the app stores — which keeps us honest about performance, offline behaviour and store review, and means the lessons from millions of real users flow straight back into the software we build for you.

Four things you can hold us to
Engineers first
You talk to the people who will build your system, from the first call to the last release. No account-management layer between you and the code.
Honest platform advice
ArcGIS or QGIS, native or Flutter, Mapbox or your own tile server — we recommend what fits your data, budget and licensing, even when it is the cheaper option.
Ship, then support
A release is the start of the relationship, not the end. We stay on for store submissions, ArcGIS upgrades, OS changes and the feature requests that only appear once real users show up.
Security is a feature
Least-privilege access, encrypted data at rest and in transit, secured GIS services and an information-security policy we are happy to walk your IT team through.

The company has grown from a handful of engineers to two entities on two continents. The way we build has stayed the same.
The beginning
Software services in Ahmedabad
A small engineering team takes on custom web and desktop work for Indian and overseas clients, building the delivery habits the company still runs on.
GIS practice
Geospatial becomes the core
Mapping projects for government and enterprise turn into a dedicated GIS practice on ESRI/ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapbox and PostGIS — now the largest part of the company.
Mobile era
Product division launched
LiveBird begins publishing its own iOS and Android apps — GIS tools, recorders, fax and PDF utilities — which go on to pass 10 million downloads.
US presence
Delaware entity
LiveBird Technologies, Inc. (Dover, DE) is established so North American clients can contract locally.
Today
Situational awareness, TAK, 3D and AI
Common operating pictures, TAK Server integrations, 3D scene services and spatial ML now sit alongside the classic GIS, web and mobile work.
04How we're organised
Eight practices, one delivery team
Each practice has its own head and its own standards, and every project draws from whichever practices it needs. That is how a GIS dashboard, a field app and its QA cycle all ship from one team.
05How we work
Structured enough to trust, agile enough to adapt
We have run projects on everything from waterfall to Scrum. Today the default is iterative: a discovery phase that ends in an agreed backlog and architecture, then short sprints with a demo at the end of each one, continuous QA and a single point of contact who answers for the whole team.
