A unique digital address for every location in Zambia

The national digital addressing system for Zambia, built for ZICTA. Any point in the country resolves to a unique address — postal-area code, sub-area grid cell and a six-digit grid reference good to roughly 11 metres — that anyone can look up, copy and share from a public web map. PostGIS holds the postal areas, sub-areas and addresses, GeoServer publishes them as WMS/WFS layers, and an admin dashboard manages users and data.

What Postcodes of Zambia does

Unique digital address for any location, e.g. LSA-A02-133833 (postal area · sub-area · grid reference)
119 postal-area codes across all 10 provinces, with a public region and district code guide
Search by digital address, postal address, place name or coordinates
Geocode search by province, area and sub-area code plus abscissa and ordinate
Current location resolved to its digital address from the device's GPS
Address card with postal area, postcode and latitude/longitude — copy or share in one tap
Distance and area measurement on the map
OpenStreetMap, road and aerial basemaps with per-layer opacity and a layer legend
Admin dashboard with authentication and user management
Responsive map viewer for phones, tablets and desktops
